About Me

I am a Software Engineer for a startup game studio called PixelActive Inc. Since I started in July 2007, my primary assignment at PixelActive has been to develop the physics module for our proprietary cross-platform game engine.

I spend most of my “recreational” time reading, programming, or playing video games (research!). Occasionally, I’ll squeeze in some time to work on music composition.

About the Blog

Too often I do things that I wish I had documented; not really for the sake of publicity or sentiment, but merely because I forget things.

Noel and Jim used to joke about who had the “goldfish memory” back at High Moon, but I find that it’s just a fact of life when it comes to Joey Hammer. I’ve never been able to remember things very well because I’m always doing ten other things simultaneously and it’s never clear what facts went with what tasks.

So, in an effort to not forget things, and possibly for the enjoyment of others, I plan on updating this with snippets of what I do (because some day I’m sure I’ll probably have to do it again!)
